30th Anniversary Spotlight: Leyla Scott

This year, WDP would like to give recognition to our long-term staff members to celebrate our 30th Anniversary. Leyla Scott started with KCI Technologies’ Manassas office in 1985 as a Secretary with Principals and Co-Founders Rhett Whitlock & Andy Dalrymple and transferred with them when they founded WDP in 1995. Now serving as WDP’s Director of Administrative Services, she has made a lasting impact on the company. Here is what her time with WDP has meant to her:

“Working at WDP has been a huge blessing in my life as it has helped me provide for my family, and I’ve always appreciated how those in charge have been understanding when you need to take time away because they also understand what it’s like to have a family. You’re working with supportive people, and you don’t feel like a “number” for some corporate machine. WDP has also provided me with a very fulfilling career. I can’t imagine my life without this experience and these people because it’s just so much more than a job.

I think a lot of my memories are tied to our annual holiday parties and other events, but one of my favorite memories at WDP is when I turned 40. The president at the time, Rhett Whitlock, threw an impromptu birthday gathering for me at lunchtime where we all celebrated in the library with cake, which I just thought was so very sweet.”
