WDP Staff Member Appointed as Technical Chair of 13th NAMC

Patrick B. Dillon, PhD, PE, Project Engineer of WDP’s Charlottesville office, has been appointed technical chair of the 13th North American Masonry Conference (NAMC), which be held June 16–19, 2019, in Salt Lake City. The quadrennial conference, which is sponsored by The Masonry Society (TMS), provides a forum for more than 300 researchers, designers, and experts from around the world to present the latest advances in masonry knowledge and practice.

As technical chair, Dr. Dillon has responsibility for all aspects of the conference’s technical program, which includes coordinating the efforts of technical experts and volunteers, managing reviews of submitted manuscripts, organizing the conference’s technical sessions, and serving as editor of the conference proceedings. He will also serve on the conference organizing committee, where he will play an integral role in planning and leading the conference.

Dr. Dillon is an active participant in TMS, where he has given presentations on masonry shear strength prediction methods and currently serves on the TMS 402/602 Design and Seismic/Limit State Design subcommittees. He is also a member of AISC. He joined WDP in May 2015 and specializes in structural evaluation and analysis of existing structures.
