WDP provided a design phase geotechnical investigation report which included test borings/exploration of subsurface conditions, laboratory soils testing, geotechnical evaluation/analysis and design recommendations for the construction of the three story, steel framed building and support structures/athletic field facilities including foundations, slabs, site retaining walls, pavements, utilities, and SWM/BMP facilities.
We also provided special inspections and materials testing during the construction phase for structural building elements including structural fill/backfill placement & compaction; foundations/slabs/walls including reinforcing steel inspections & concrete testing; reinforced CMU including CMU/grout/mortar testing; structural steel and CFMF/LGMF inspections; and fireproofing materials. Site elements inspected/tested included two concrete play areas, a basketball court, several athletic fields, a paved access road, a new bus loop with an access entrance road, several new parking areas, and utility improvements for storm drains, water, sewer, data and electrical. SWM/BMP facilities also included underground Stormtech systems and SWM/BMP ponds.
Also during the construction phase, WDP performed building envelope testing including glazing and skylight water penetration (nozzle) testing and air leakage testing. We provided envelope field testing for the three-story 116,000-sf school which included nozzle water tests per AAMA 501.2, chamber tests per ASTM E783/E1105 for air and water infiltration, and whole building air infiltration testing per ASTM E779.
