BJ (Byoung-Jun) Lee, Ph.D., P.E., S.E., Associate
BJ Lee is an Associate in WDP's Manassas office.
BJ is a structural engineer with expertise in materials, analysis, design, construction, and repair with special emphasis on structural concrete, steel, masonry, wood, and other exterior building envelope systems.
“It is fascinating to understand how the building materials behave and fail. I have been an eye-witness to numerous structural issues as well as performance failures in construction and have enjoyed the challenge to diagnose and evaluate the causes of the problems. Development of the repair concepts and details is another challenge I enjoy, and my goal is to serve our clients with the optimal design that addresses cost and public safety.”
BJ has written over 15 technical papers and articles in nationally recognized journals and proceedings. Topics included various construction materials of steel, concrete, and masonry, such as:
- "Development of Precast Prestressed Three-Wythe Concrete Sandwich Wall Panels"
- "Experimental Study on Structural Behavior of Double-Angle Shear Connections"
