Balian Springs

Balian Springs Social Wellness Club

The project involved a major renovation of an existing, 2-story brick building, located in an industrial park, into a 3-story spa retreat. Construction included new foundations, slabs (on grade and on deck), structural masonry work, structural steel, light gauge metal framing, and fireproofing within the interior of the existing building.

WDP performed construction special inspections and materials testing for structural steel, light gauge metal framing, concrete, and masonry for the following:

  • Beauty Spa
  • Therapeutic Pools (Activity Pool, Co-ed Spa Pools, Hinoki Jacuzzi, & Rooftop Infinity Pool
  • 8 Saunas (Far-infrared, Charcoal, Chromotherapy, Loess Soil, Himaylayan Salt, Gold, Ice Igloo, and Steam Box)
  • 7 Dining / Bar Areas
  • Lounges (Aroma, Meditation, Media, Workspace & Fitness)

The Client was not from the Northern Virginia/Washington DC area and as such, was not familiar with the Fairfax County Critical Structures program requirements. WDP provided consultations and oversight for the Client to guide them through the Fairfax County Critical Structures program and various requirements. By doing this, the Client was able to construct the process much more efficiently and within budget and schedule.
