For this month’s spotlight, we are highlighting our work with the West Virginia General Services Division. WDP performed façade replacement and restoration services for Building 36 at One Davis Square in Charleston. Our investigation identified multiple enclosure performance issues, including unsecured curtain wall anchors, glazing failures, water and air infiltration, and debonding of granite tile cladding components.
WDP provided design through construction services for a complete façade replacement that required removal and reconstruction of the exterior walls and metal framings. The new drainable EIFS and curtain wall systems improved thermal performance while addressing water infiltration and air leakage. We coordinated detailed phasing and temporary interior barriers so the work could proceed while the building remained fully occupied, minimizing disruptions to offices and workspaces.
This July, WDP celebrated the following employee anniversaries: David Orense, EIT; Felix Redmond; Jordan Selby, EIT; Teagan Allen-Raffetto, PE; Tyler Williams; and Adam D’Alessandro, PE.

What is your alma mater and what did you study?
I studied Architectural Engineering at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA. I received my bachelor’s in 2020 and my master’s in 2021. I then worked in Seattle for three years designing seismic retrofits of existing buildings before moving to Virginia and joining WDP.
What is your role at WDP?
I am a Project Engineer. I work primarily on structural and building envelope investigations and repair designs, with a focus on masonry and historic preservation. I have mostly worked under Senior Engineers and Project Managers, but I am beginning to manage my own projects now.
How long have you been working at WDP?
I have been working at WDP for two years.
What do you like about working at WDP?
I love the variety of work we do and the opportunity to experience the built environment in a way very few other people are able to. In my two years working here I’ve gone on so many interesting investigations, from army crawling through a crawl space under a house at Virginia Tech in my first month here, to water testing stone veneer from a man-lift in New Orleans, to climbing around the fly loft of a theater at William and Mary; the work we get to do is never boring! Our critical thinking, design, and problem-solving skills are always being put to the test with every project. Finding the best solution, then seeing that solution actually be implemented on the structure is so rewarding, and I’m always excited for the next thing.
On July 15th, Kelsey Sheridan, PE and Michelle Roy, PE, enjoyed connecting with fellow industry professionals at the NVBIA’s Women in the Building Industry, HCCA Women in Construction, and NAWIC NOVA Happy Hour at 2 Silos in Manassas. Thank you to the organizers for bringing Northern Virginia’s building and construction community together, and to Kelsey and Michelle for representing WDP!
