Hilton Garden Inn

WDP provided design phase geotechnical recommendations and performed third party special inspections and materials testing for the 79,500+ SF, 4-story hotel with 120-rooms.  The hotel is wood-framed with a brick façade/veneer on conventional shallow foundations with on-grade slabs. Also included on the site is an asphalt parking lot with room for 129 vehicles and five spaces that are van accessible.

The hotel, which had its grand opening in March of 2022, is also home to the Red House Tavern and Crossroads Café.

Existing uncontrolled fill soils were present within portions of the project site that required evaluation and overexcavation and replacement with controlled fill to provided proper bearing support for the hotel structure and associated pavement areas. Shallow, hard bedrock was also present within the project site that required crushing/processing to smaller rock sizes to be reused as structural fill.
