NIH Building E Wing Renovation

WDP provided Building Envelope Moisture Protection Consulting Services in support of a 250,000 SF renovation project, collaborating with the prime A/E to develop functional design elements to be included in the Design documents.

Our scope of work included site investigation; document review of previous repairs to the exterior building walls and roof systems; production of preliminary and schematic design narratives for the building envelope to include assessment of the existing conditions, outline of recommended scope of work and specification of various building envelope assembly performance requirements based on compliance with applicable GSA standards, ASHRAE 189.1, ASHRAE 90.1, and IECC as well as results of hygrothermal analysis of the proposed building envelope design; and design review reports at Design Development (35%) and Construction Documents (70%) phases relating to recommended performance requirements and functionality and constructability of the design details related to the building envelope. WDP provided construction administration services during the construction phase of the project, which was completed in 2012.
