Tidewater Community College, Advanced Tech Center (ATC)

The ATC building experienced numerous leakage areas, yet it remained unclear to the facilities personnel whether it was due to the roof assembly, or through wall flashing issues. WDP testing in preparation for the roof replacement identified that the majority of the leakage issues were actually due to poor flashings, missing weather resistive barriers, and missing sheathing in some locations. In reality, while the roof is nearing the end of its service life and should be addressed in the near future, it was not the cause of the majority of the leakage. This effort allowed the Owner to reevaluate the goals of the project and decide how to best approach the repairs that are needed to address the leakage.
