Akshay is a senior engineer and project manager with expertise in forensic investigations, structural evaluations, and analysis of existing structures to determine the causes of damage, distress, and performance issues. His work involves field investigations, structural analysis, repair recommendations, and technical consulting for owners and contractors.
Akshay has worked on a broad range of structural systems and materials, including structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, timber, cold-formed steel, and glass. Akshay has evaluated commercial and residential buildings, industrial facilities, parking structures, historic structures, and has developed repair and rehabilitation recommendations for a variety of structural conditions.
Akshay has experience performing and interpreting non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, including ground penetrating radar (GPR), impact echo testing, and concrete sounding to assess existing structural elements and support engineering evaluations. Additionally, Akshay has experience in the design and evaluation of blast-resistant structures, rooftop equipment support systems, industrial equipment supports and fall protection systems. Beyond his technical responsibilities, Akshay is an active member of the Structural Engineers Association of Southern California (SEAOSC), the Structural Engineers Association of Metropolitan Washington (SEA-MW), and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
