WDP Office: Manassas
Collin assists project managers and senior engineers in field investigations, nondestructive testing, building envelope consulting, structural analysis and design, and development and review of project documents.
“Working at WDP, I can fuel my desire to ask ‘Why?’ and ‘How?’ and get involved with a number of projects directly related to structural forensics, building testing & investigations, and occasionally assisting in structural design work. Finding that my engineering strengths were in structures and construction at the Virginia Military Institute, I knew I could carry the lessons learned and practical application with me into working with WDP. Coming from a military environment, I enjoy being involved with the number of projects we cover on military bases from Quantico to Fort McNair. Working as a Staff Engineer has allowed me to assist on larger projects that WDP has a history, like the Capitol Utility Tunnels, and each project presents a new learning experience. WDP has provided me with an excellent entry into the engineering field and introduced me to aspects of Civil Engineering I had never been exposed to.”
While at VMI, Collin was involved in the following organizations:
- American Society of Civil Engineers, 2019-2021
- American Society of Military Engineers, 2018-2021
- American Institute of Steel Construction – Student Member 2020-2021
