WDP Office: Manassas
Andy Dalrymple is a leader in the forensic structural engineering field. He currently serves as Committee Secretary for the Masonry Standards Joint Committee responsible for the development of TMS 402/ACI 530/ASCE 5 and TMS 602/ACI 530.1/ASCE 6-Building Code Requirements and Specification for Masonry Structures. Additionally, Andy has assumed the role of overseeing WDP’s technical work product to maintain the consistent delivery of accurate, reliable, high quality services.
“I was first exposed to this business in graduate school, conducting research for the Structures Department at Clemson University. My research on masonry anchor bolts ended up in the TMS 402/602 Building Code & Specification for Masonry Structures, which was gratifying. While at the Brick Institute of America, I was exposed to a wide range of specifications, standards, design applications, and testing methods for not only masonry but also components connected to masonry, such as windows and curtainwalls. After decades of participation on technical committees, I still love to see the research on new products or systems and working to improve the way masonry is used through code development. I enjoy applying that experience to the real world.”
