WDP Offices: Blacksburg & Manassas
Eric leads various structural, material, and architectural engineering activities, specializing in building envelope and façade failures, nondestructive testing, and design and repair of concrete and masonry structures. As Chief Executive Officer, he is also responsible for executing WDP’s Strategic Business Plan and communicating the vision for the firm’s future direction and growth.
“Being at the forefront of a rapidly changing industry is exciting. Since buildings come together with constantly evolving materials, systems, and codes, there are many places where things can go wrong. Chasing down the problem is the best part of my job. Many of these problems are part Structural, part Architectural, and part Aesthetic; and I have to look at all three to arrive at the best solution. My work is wide ranging — from structures where nothing has been touched in 200 years to the newest innovative buildings under construction. One certainty in life is that there will always be failures in buildings and structures over time. My job is to find out why and how to cost effectively fix it.”
