Michelle M. Roy, E.I.T., Staff Geotechnical Engineer

WDP Office: Manassas

Michelle specializes in drilling and geotechnical consulting services for our Testing and Inspections Division. Her role primarily consists of coordinating drilling programs for geotechnical site explorations, conducting drill rig inspector services, analyzing soil and laboratory test results, and working with clients to provide design and testing recommendations based on her experience and report analyses. Michelle also assists the other WDP divisions with their projects by acting as a “utility player” on projects related to structural and forensic engineering.

“Growing up I wanted to be an architect, but after taking a couple of high school engineering/architecture classes, I realized that I enjoy problem solving more than aesthetic design, and that led me towards civil engineering and construction. I fell in love with Geotechnical Engineering in my later undergraduate years, when I began learning about subsurface structure design and the challenges that come with having unique soil conditions on every project. Every project is different, and I love that!”
