The Lampasas Building (LAMP), constructed in 1912, is the second oldest building on the university campus and houses the Center for International Studies and University’s Honors College. The building consists of four levels and has undergone many stages of renovations and expansions.
During an interior renovation project, water infiltration was observed through the soffit of the porch and terrace area. WDP was subsequently retained to determine the source of the leakage. We performed a review of the design plans, observations, water testing, and probe openings into the terrace area in front of the building.
Our findings determined the cause of water infiltration to be due to maintenance issues and inconsistent details from previous building additions. WDP evaluated the conditions and provided the university with two practical repair recommendations.
